EER Bill: Change the UK’s copyright system

The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill was completed last month and includes changes to copyright for the usage of certain works in certain situations (including orphaned works- or copyrighted work for which the copyright owner cannot be contacted). This follows the proposal of changes to the UK’s copyright system as part of last year’s Hargreaves Review. Writing for Children Conference 2013

Writing for Children

Literature Wales is holding a Writing and Illustrating for Children conference on Saturday 23 February, at the University of Glamorgan in Trefforest.

It is a day of talks, workshops and conversation, aimed at people interested or active in producing work for children. Relevant events for illustrators include talks on collaboration and digital platforms, comic strip and picture book workshops plus a speed dating style event for writers and illustrators.

Ghosts of Gone Birds is an ongoing art project dedicated to breathing life back into the birds we have lost – so we don’t lose anymore. The project features a plethora of artworks by a selection of multi-talented artists, including Welsh Illustrator Stuart Whitton, who is exhibiting the above piece at the Brighton based show. Ghosts of Gone Birds will be on until January 31 2012 at The ONCA Gallery, 14 St George’s Place, Brighton.
